Travel Essentials

What are the things that you bring with you on every trip?

We recently talked about some tips that can help you come back from a trip feeling nice and refreshed and this week I am sharing my travel essentials. These are things that help me to feel my best while traveling and that I always regret forgetting. Check out the list below, with links to the specific products I use.

Vitamin C. How many times have you returned from a trip and immediately gotten sick? Or even worse, gotten sick while traveling? These vitamin C packets help to boost your immune system and are my go-to defense against airport germs.

Eye Mask & Ear Plugs. You never know the type of sleeping environment you are going to encounter when you are traveling and these two small things make the biggest difference in helping to ensure a good night's sleep. They even helped me get some sleep when staying in a house with 10 adults and 8 children under 5 - trust me, you want to bring these on your next trip.

Snack Bars. I find that making good food choices while in the airport is one of the hardest things when traveling. Bringing my own CJW approved snack bars allows me to always have at least something to eat when hunger strikes. Lately, I have been loving the B.T.R Nation Strawberry bars.

Protein Powder. Similar to bringing snack bars, I always bring some protein powder with me when traveling. I like to use it in the morning as starting the day off with a high protein breakfast helps to keep me full and make better food decisions throughout the day. I will either mix the powder with greek yogurt or just add it to some water or milk.

Electrolytes. A necessity for hot days or anytime you are going to be consuming alcohol. I also like to consume while I am on the plane or in the car as it is very easy to become dehydrated while traveling.

Headphones. Duh

Water Bottle. Sure you can always buy water, but it is so much easier (and better for the planet) to just bring your own. Nearly every airport now has fill up stations and it is so easy to refill it anywhere you go.

Magnesium. When I am traveling I don’t usually bring all my supplements as it can be too much, but similar to Vitamin C, I make sure to always bring some magnesium with me. Magnesium supports sleep, relaxation, muscle recovery, and can also help keep you regular, which can be an issue for some people when traveling.

Eye Drops. Between the dry air of the plane and usually some dehydration and sleep deprivation, my eyes always get so dry when I am traveling. These simple eye drops help to alleviate that and are very easy to just drop in your bag.

Lotion Stick. I love to bring things that serve multiple purposes so I don’t have to take up any extra room and an all in one polish stick is perfect for traveling. This stick in particular serves as body moisturizer, a hair tamer, and hand and cuticle lotion. I have one in every bag.

Tea Bags. I love tea and am very particular about the kind of tea bags that I use so I always bring my own. If there is something that you love and use everyday that isn’t too much of a hassle to bring with you, I suggest you bring it with you on your trips.

Chlorophyll Drops. These drops can be added to your water and support detoxification and digestion. They also help to ensure that you are properly hydrated. All things that we could use a little help with while traveling!

Floss. Random but trust me on this one. No one brings it but everyone wants it.
