Becoming Lucky
Do you consider yourself lucky?
While it may all seem random and out of your control, the truth is that becoming lucky is much more in your control than you might imagine. You can definitely create your own luck and become that person who seemingly gets all the breaks. As Tennessee Williams said, "Luck is believing you're lucky."
Take action. You don’t become lucky by locking yourself in your house not doing anything. Luck requires actually doing things. And it often requires doing lots of things. Lucky people do lots of new things, meet lots of new people, and ask for what they want, knowing that they are creating their own lucky
Look for the good. Lucky people are usually able to see the positive even when negative things happen to them. They tend to not dwell on their misfortunes and believe that things will work out. Not to be confused with toxic positivity and glossing over negative feelings and situations, it is instead about feeling the disappointment, but also looking for ways that it could be beneficial in the long run and not giving up.
Do new things. Doing the same things day after day limits your ability to experience something new. The luckiest people do new things and switch up their routines, creating chances for new opportunities. Try doing something differently - go to a new coffee shop, take a different route to work, visit a new gym. You never know what opportunities await you.
Show appreciation. Notice all the good that is already in your life and cultivate an attitude of gratitude and appreciation. Even the smallest things. Being in this frame of mind will help you to believe that you are already lucky and make you more receptive.
Follow your intuition. Lucky people listen to their gut and intuition. If something doesn’t make sense logically but it feels right, they will follow that and not let their minds override their gut instinct. Learn to listen to your intuition and follow those nudges.
Change your attitude. Being an optimistic person goes hand in hand with becoming a lucky person. You are more likely to try new things and be open to opportunities if you believe that things are going to work out for the best.
Take risks. Lucky people put themselves out there and take risks. We often just notice the successful end result and don’t see all the failures and nos that were part of the process. But lucky people realize that all they need is a couple of those opportunities to turn into something. Put yourself out there in situations where you have the opportunity to become lucky.
